Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 17 of the Portuguese Securities Code, we hereby announce that Deutsche Bank AG increased its holding in Portugal Telecom, SGPS, S.A. (PT) to 2.07% of PTs share capital and voting rights, following the acquisition of 15,000,000 shares on 9 June 2006. Subsequently, Deutsche Bank AG decreased its holding in PT to 0.73%, equivalent to 8,180,982 PT shares, as a result of the sale of 15,000,000 shares on 14 June 2006.
