December Sales Release

On January 4, 2007, Stage Stores, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a News Release announcing the Company's December 2006 sales results and that comparable and total store sales increased 2.2% and 11.8% respectively. A copy of the News Release is attached to this Form 8-K as Exhibit 99.
