NEWS RELEASE


TEEKAY SHIPPING CORPORATION DECLARES DIVIDEND


Nassau, The Bahamas, January 6, 2004 — Teekay Shipping Corporation announced that its Board of Directors has voted to declare a cash dividend on its common stock of $0.25 per share, payable on January 30, 2004 to all shareholders of record as at January 16, 2004.
