After spending a decade as a state prosecutor, he became an assistant attorney general. He then made his way into becoming a small business owner, where he worked heavily in criminal law, both in the fields of criminal prosecution and defense. Mr. Zentner is motivated to advocate for people, so he became a lawyer.
Early Career
During his undergraduate years, Mr. Zentner was called to serve as a juror for a civil case, and while serving on the jury, he witnessed firsthand how lawyers would build and argue their cases. He knew he wanted to be a lawyer at that moment and decided to go to law school. His passion for criminal law came when he interned for a local county attorney's office.
During the early stages of his career in law, Mr. Zentner gained valuable experience as an assistant county attorney for the Leavenworth County Attorney's Office and as a legal intern with the Leavenworth and Shawnee County District Attorney's Offices. He helped draft House Bill 2442 and testified before the House Standing Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice.
Mr. Zentner holds a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication and rhetoric with a minor in Spanish from the University of Utah. He received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Kansas School of Law afterward. Mr. Zentner was admitted to practice through the Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations and the Federal District of Kansas and aligns himself with the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys, the National Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association and the Kansas County and District Attorney's Association, as well as with various local county bar organizations.

Mr. Zentner achieved a significant milestone in his career when he opened his law firm. He takes pride in maintaining a reputation for being firm and fair in the legal community, and his top priority as a prosecutor is to ensure a just outcome. As of 2024, Mr. Zentner manages almost $80 million of client assets and focuses on justice and discretion regarding the people he works with.
When asked about the advice he would give young people seeking to venture into law, Mr. Zentner stated that they need to do as much research as possible to decide on what type of attorney they want to be. He states that people often idealize being a lawyer by watching TV, but he shares that much of the work is done behind the scenes. Above all, Mr. Zentner shares that one must be fearless of speaking and be coherent, organized and willing to work on the spot.
In his free time, Mr. Zentner enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and archery. He has also contributed to his community as a volunteer host for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Mr. Zentner has spent over a decade educating youth about Biblical studies.
