Red Hat Amplifies Enterprise Linux Across the Hybrid Cloud with the IT Industry's Largest Commercial Open Source Software Ecosystem

Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that the IT industry’s largest commercial open source ecosystem backs Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, the latest version of the world’s leading enterprise Linux platform. Built to support any application, any environment, anywhere, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 continues Red Hat’s commitment to driving value throughout the entire enterprise technology stack with the backing of many IT leaders.

Any application

Since the launch of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 in 2014, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux ecosystem has expanded. Hundreds of independent software vendors (ISVs) now deliver more than 5,000 certified applications for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, delivering additional expertise across a broad range of enterprise IT challenges. From networking to security and more, the Red Hat Enterprise Linux ecosystem provides the most Linux-supportable business applications for customer production use.

Any infrastructure

Through the Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider (CCSP) program, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is available across a vast array of infrastructure service providers -- from the largest global public cloud providers such as Alibaba Cloud, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure to regional and specialized cloud and managed service providers. More than 1,000 Red Hat CCSPs offer Red Hat Enterprise Linux on their cloud infrastructures, serving as a foundation for organizations to adopt cloud-native strategies.

Hardware providers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) remain a critical part of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 partner ecosystem as well. Tens of thousands of certified hardware configurations currently support Red Hat Enterprise Linux, providing a starting point for IT organizations to adopt hybrid cloud computing. Additionally, all major processor architectures, including x86_64, ppc64le, aarch64 and s390x have certified configurations available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is also certified for NVIDIA DGX-2 systems as organizations look to build artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

One platform

From the datacenter to public clouds, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 provides a common, consistent platform to meet the enterprise IT challenges of today and fuel future innovation. But Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is more than an enterprise operating system. The platform provides an entry point to a vast partner network of hardware, software and cloud services providers, all delivering certified solutions and configurations ready to support the open hybrid cloud.
