Immigration And Bankruptcy Firm Lincoln-Goldfinch Law Explains New USCIS Updates

Tania Morris-Diaz, an attorney at immigration and bankruptcy firm, Lincoln-Goldfinch Law, discusses the most recent changes issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Austin,United States - November 24, 2022 /PressCable/

Tania Morris-Diaz, one of the immigration lawyers of Lincoln-Goldfinch Law, explains the new updates from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or USCIS. The updated policy guidelines clarify the changes in Form N-648 or the Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions form.

Form N-648 is for people who need to apply for an exception to the English and/or civics test, which are requirements when applying for naturalization in the U.S. Individuals who have a physical or mental disability or developmental disorder that prevent them from studying for the exam can get an exemption using this form. It is an essential part of the naturalization process that a medical professional must complete and certify.

The new N-648 form has become shorter and more streamlined. Some of the changes include the removal of questions that are repetitive and impractical. For example, how the applicant’s disability affects their day-to-day functions such as going to school or work.

In addition, the new form no longer asks for information such as a detailed description of how severe the applicant’s disability is, the date the applicant was diagnosed with it, and what kind of relationship the applicant has with the medical professional. Applicants can now submit this form after the N-400 or the Application for Naturalization form.

Ms. Morris-Diaz, with the rest of the team at Lincoln-Goldfinch Law, are committed to providing legal services in the area of immigration and bankruptcy. Their team of experienced attorneys is up-to-date with recent changes in the law to provide their clients with the assistance they need.
