SecureMaine inaugural conference is October 5 at The Point in South Portland, Maine

SecureMaine invites area cybersecurity and privacy professionals and enthusiasts to their first annual conference in South Portland, Maine. SecureMaine is a new non-profit established by a collaboration of security-related nonprofits to improve regional cybersecurity capacity by bringing leading experts, CIO and CISO executives, practitioners, and community members together for educational sessions and networking, to support the Maine security community and improve security regionally.

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine - Aug. 30, 2023 - PRLog -- The inaugural SecureMaine Conference, organized by SecureMaine, a non-profit organization, will take place Thursday, October 5, 2023, at The Point, 345 Clarks Pond Parkway, South Portland, Maine. Attendance fees are: $25 Early Rate through 9/1/23; $30 Advance Rate; $40 Event Day (space permitting). Registration is available online at https://www.securemaine.org

This full day conference covers information security issues as they relate to technology, governance, and architecture, and finishes with a roundtable discussion featuring CISOs / CIOs / CIPOs. The SecureMaine Conference content includes both cybersecurity and physical security.

Constituents attending this event will include individuals and organizations looking to improve their cybersecurity, physical security, and privacy protection. Attendees are likely to come from New England, mostly from Maine and nearby states.

Presenters will include national experts, leaders from government agencies, relevant organizations, technologists, lawyers, consultants, strategists, and policy makers at national and local levels.  Early confirmed presentations include (schedule additions / adjustments are ongoing):

  • Keynote Dr. Erika Voss, VP Engineering and Security at Capital One, will discuss predicting insider threats,
  • A presentation by a FBI representative on economic espionage threats relevant to rural states,
  • A panel with Capital One managers and strategists focused on cybersecurity and compliance
  • A leading CISO/CIO roundtable with Maine representation
The conference is a collaboration between five inaugural non-profit professional bodies investing their time and resources in the importance of this event to their members in Maine and nearby states. The event will satisfy continuing education credits (CEUs) for related topics. The entities, in alphabetical order, include:
  • IAPP – International Association of Privacy Professionals
  • InfraGard Maine
  • ISACA New England
  • (ISC)2 Maine
  • MTUG – Maine Technology Users Group
