Notification of Major Interests in Shares - Correction

 

The following notification was received on 20 November 2003 by BHP Billiton Plc in a letter from Lehman Brothers International (Europe) dated 19 November 2003 relating to an overstatement of major interests in shares of BHP Billiton Plc as at 13 November 2003:

"S198 Companies Act

Due to the inclusion of an intercompany position in our S198 disclosure of 14th November, 2003, we overstated our position in BHP Billiton Plc by 27,000,000 shares. Our position as at 13th was therefore in fact 137,495,598 shares, or 5.57% of the share capital of the company."
