loanDepot recognized as a 2024 Diversity Leader by National Mortgage Professional Magazine

Honor recognizes unwavering commitment to fostering diversity within the mortgage industry

loanDepot, Inc. ("LDI" or "Company") (NYSE: LDI), a leading provider of home lending solutions that enables customers to achieve the dream of homeownership, has been selected as one of National Mortgage Professional Magazine's “Diversity Leaders” for 2024. The honor recognizes companies that demonstrate an “unwavering commitment to fostering diversity within the mortgage industry,” according to the magazine. loanDepot, the country’s third-ranked lender serving minorities1, earned the honor in part for creating a more inclusive path to homeownership by promoting diversity within its organization.

“One of the most important things we can do as a mortgage lender is to remove barriers to homeownership, especially for the increasingly diverse communities seeking to become first-time homebuyers,” said loanDepot, Inc. President and CEO Frank Martell. “Our recognition as a Diversity Leader underscores our commitment to creating a more inclusive path to homeownership through our team, a multicultural and multilingual group of mortgage professionals who help us better serve the unique needs of diverse and under-represented communities.”

loanDepot actively supports the unique needs of diverse and under-represented communities by recruiting and retaining multicultural and multilingual talent. loanDepot’s team of mortgage professionals comprises 52 percent minorities, which plays a crucial role in supporting the needs of minority and other traditionally underserved homebuyers.

The Company regularly provides training programs to its team, including the 'Keys to Homeownership Specialist' program, a purpose-built credential for retail loan originators. Across four training sessions, originators learn about the distinctive needs of the increasingly diverse communities of first-time homeowners and receive the tools necessary to support their communities. loanDepot’s ACES program recruits and trains a diverse talent network from outside of the financial services industry, transforming careers with opportunities for advancement within the field. For consumers, loanDepot hosts educational workshops each year to help aspiring homeowners understand the steps to becoming ‘mortgage ready.’

“Supporting the needs of today’s underserved communities extends beyond just speaking their language,” said loanDepot Vice President of Community Lending Jesus Cruz. “It’s about understanding their culture and being committed to serving their unique needs. We’re passionate about this because we know it makes a difference in our ability to help more families purchase a home. As we seek to make a positive impact on the lives of the people we serve, properly supporting their first home purchase is so important as it’s one of the largest drivers of generational wealth and strengthens our communities.”

Beyond cultivating a diverse workforce, loanDepot plays an important role in championing industry diversity at a national level. The company actively supports organizations like the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, and others through national and local chapter participation that includes volunteer leadership and advocacy around issues that affect home buyers and homeowners. Further, company representatives regularly attend and participate in presentations and panel discussions on diversity and inclusive housing policy at industry conferences.

National Mortgage Professional Magazine is the source for top originators, providing industry leadership, resources for professional development, and more.
