Mike the Pike Productions, Inc. (Pink Sheets: MIKP) (www.mtpprods.com) announces final negotiations with key cast members for MTP (MIKP)/Spoke Lane production of ‘White Space’, a deep-space thriller echoing classics such as ‘Jaws’, ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ and ‘Alien’.

Producers Ryan Colucci, Jim Devoti and Mark B. Newbauer have been working diligently on the project which is currently on schedule for June 6, 2011 principal photography, shooting in visually compelling locations such as L.A.’s Chinatown, Franklin Canyon Park, www.newdealstudios.com, www.filmworksfx.com, and http://www.lcstages.com/spaceship.html.

“Cast will be announced in line with industry protocol, as with our other items of note, but will occur before principle photography commences,” states MTP CEO/Producer, Mark B. Newbauer. “We are engaged in actionable discussions toward what we feel will be a solid, recognizable ensemble cast in a final product with potential for exponential returns.”

Mike the Pike Productions announced earlier this month that it plans to dividend MIKP shareholders based on returns from its slate of feature films, beginning with ‘White Space’, which is aimed for theatrical release. The team expects a film in the can by end of July and a finished product estimated at approximately $30,000,000.00 on or about Q3, 2011. “The team has the luxury of Filmworks FX (www.filmworksfx.com) on board to provide a significant amount of VFX (visual effects) and post-production alongside its principle photography schedule using advanced technology and remote setups,” states Newbauer.

Filmworks FX is a leading service provider and go-to for major studios and has provided a multitude of services including VFX and post-production as well as 2nd and 3rd unit photography. Its resume boasts films such as ‘Knight and Day’, ‘Apocalypto’, ‘Juno’, ‘Red Riding Hood’, ‘Clifford’ and many more.
