Bibiyan Family Philanthropic Foundation Names Ben & Jerry's Winner Of Annual BFPF Award

By: PRLog
PR Log - Nov 05, 2011 - Ice cream manufacturer Ben & Jerry’s has been named the official winner of this year's  coveted BFPF Award for social good.

In 2011 Ben & Jerry’s successfully launched a Twitter application that fits a message and link about World Fair Trade Day in the leftover characters of one’s tweets — i.e., if your tweet is 40 characters, the remaining 100 will contain a message about World Fair Trade Day and a link to more information.

Says co-founder of BFPF Tom Bibiyan "I am genuinely proud to be awarding  the first of hopefully many BFPF awards to this innovative and socially responsible company. To see them leveraging the social web to make real change a reality is an inspiration to me personally, and a lesson to many in the business world."

About The BFPF Award

The BFPF Award for Social Good will be awarded annually to Social Media and High Tech companies that manage to leverage the social web and new media to effectively bring about meaningful change via charitable causes or other non-profit means.
