PR Log - May 11, 2012 - Hawthorne, NJ – Akadema endorser Shane Victorino is holding his Third Annual Shane Victorino Foundation All-Star Celebrity Fashion Show on Monday, June 18, 2012, presented by Neiman Marcus. Victorino and his wife, Melissa, founded the Shane Victorino Foundation in February 2010. The Foundation promotes opportunities for underserved youth in Philadelphia and Hawaii by engaging in projects which provide children with educational, recreational, and wellness programs. Victorino’s Foundation recently pledged nearly $1 million to renovate the 105 year-old Nicetown unit. The club reopened as “The Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys and Girls Club” in September 2011. Also, in Hawaii, the Foundation raised over $500,000 for charities.
Victorino’s played in 954 games, compiling 561 runs, 940 hits, 368 RBI’s, 171 stolen bases, and lead the league twice in triples in 2009 with 13, and 2011 with 16. Sporting his Akadema glove, Victorino has won the Gold Glove Award three times in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Akadema re-signed the Philadelphia Phillies All-Star Centerfielder through the 2012 season.
