3rd Annual ACEDS Conference to Spotlight Predictive Coding Best Practices with Interactive Workshop

By: PRLog
PR Log - Nov 14, 2012 - Miami–The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists will explore the transformative powers and accompanying risks of predictive coding with an engaging workshop at its upcoming conference, Feb. 27 to March 2 at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Florida. The workshop, featuring top speakers from leading organizations and law firms, will be accompanied by a conference panel probing recent cases involving the nascent technology.

For the first time, top service providers will provide hands-on demonstrations of their predictive coding tools. Consultants will simulate litigation scenarios with sample data sets, giving attendees an authentic feel for how the products work.

Predictive coding, also known as “computer assisted review,” is a powerful new technology that is rendering obsolete a generation of traditional keyword-based approaches to document review. Its proponents say it can drastically reduce the cost and time associated with large-scale projects, while increasing accuracy. The technology is not without a learning curve, though.

The workshop is part of a world class, four-day conference. More than 30 experts on 15 cutting-edge panels and two workshops will address e-discovery hot buttons, including preservation and management of electronic data, lawyer malpractice, defensible document deletion, leveraging cloud applications, and many others.

Conducted in its hallmark interactive fashion, the ACEDS format lets attendees pose questions directly to the speakers through expert moderators who orchestrate the panels and roam the conference floor while questioning the speakers themselves.

Valuable Networking at 13 Beachside Events

Attendees will also benefit from 13 first-class networking events. They include two beachside receptions, three breakfasts, two luncheons and numerous refreshment breaks. An attendee appreciation brunch, preceding Saturday’s predictive coding workshop, will feature a prize raffling and other great giveaways.

ACEDS, the three-year-old worldwide member organization, issues the world's first e-discovery certification, the Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) credential. It has members around the world and CEDS-certified professionals throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

More than 50 service providers in Exhibition Hall

The conference also serves the needs of "shoppers" who are looking to buy e-discovery software and services. The Exhibition Hall will host 50 or more providers of services and software in the field, including Presenting Sponsor Driven Inc.

The conference offers up to 17 CLE, CPE credits, and CEDS credits for the growing number of CEDS-certified professionals who must keep up their continuing education.
