PR Log - Jan 10, 2013 - LANCASTER, Pa. -- Photos To Space, in partnership with Team Prometheus, is offering 10,000 people a chance to send their pictures on a near space mission at no charge.
"Consumer space travel has become a reality," says Joe Latrell. "It is our mission to bring elements of commercial space travel to the general public. For us, 2013 is shaping up to be the year of personal space."
For a limited time, participants can upload their digital photo at no charge to the company website. Prior to the flight the information will be transferred to a proprietary storage array and placed aboard a specialized craft from Team Prometheus. After the launch is completed, each participant will receive a customized digital certificate with his or her photo embedded within. The certificate will also include flight information such as altitude, maximum velocity, and exact launch time. Included in this package is a Flight Data Log which will contain details about the flight, including flight time, temperature, pressure, altitude and many more.
"This is a great way to get students and teachers involved in space travel," continues Latrell. “What better way to start a child exploring real world math and science than to participate in a real space mission? What a great introduction to STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) courses."
