Petite Anse Beachfront Hotel in Grenada recently raised another $2000 USD for local children’s home, Father Mallaghan’s in Victoria, through receiving donations and selling t-shirts.

Petite Anse Hotel in Grenada recently raised another $2000 USD for local children’s home, Father Mallaghan’s in Victoria, through receiving donations and selling t-shirts.
The t-shirts were designed by a marketing professional and sales contributed significantly to the amount raised. Various donations were made by friends and business partners, including a generous donation from Gerry Copsey of Just Grenada, a travel company specializing in the island.
Annie Farey Clift, wife of the owner of the Petite Anse Beachfront Hotel in Sauteurs said, “the children in the home have had to endure a difficult start in life, we are trying to help by doing what we can to alleviate some of the effects of that. We want them to be given the support and comforts that they need in order to nurture them in their journey into an adulthood where they can manage alone.”
The money raised will be spent as part of a temporary project to carry out essential repair work to the present home before the anticipated building of a new and more suitable facility. The home has been in a state of disrepair for many years so this much needed work will ensure it meets basic living standards.
Father Mallaghan’s Home was set up as sheltered housing for boys between the ages of 7-14 who have been taken out of their homes due to severe abuse and neglect. The home has recently come into trouble after withdrawal of funding from the Catholic Church and as such, requires constant support from other sources. As well as fundraising, Petite Anse Hotel has sponsored three undergraduates from the UK to mentor and play a variety of sports with the boys, including the introduction of field hockey to Grenada. This is part of a constant effort to ensure healthy recreation for the boys.
