Manufacturer’s Buying Group Recognized as Industry Leader

By: PRLog
Buying consortium Prime Advantage recognized for outstanding work on behalf of manufacturer and supplier companies with two separate awards - the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100 and as a finalist for an Expo magazine EXCITE Award for hosting one of the Best Buyer-Seller Events.
PRLog - Jun 17, 2013 - CHICAGO -- Prime Advantage, the leading buying consortium for midsized manufacturers, was named to the 11th annual Supply and Demand Chain Executive 100, highlighting  exceptional supply chain projects. This is the fifth time that Prime Advantage has been recognized on the SDCE 100.

“With this year's Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100, we are featuring ‘100 Great Supply Chain Projects’ that demonstrate the broad spectrum of opportunities for enabling excellence in the supply chain,” said Barry Hochfelder, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

Prime Advantage was selected for its work with Cres Cor, a member company. Cres Cor is a family-owned manufacturer of mobile commercial food service equipment, including an award-winning line of hot food holding cabinets. Cres Cor used membership in Prime Advantage to form collaborative relationships with suppliers of direct and indirect goods and services and implement a novel product marketing strategy known as Good, Better, Best. Cres Cor leveraged this supplier network to continuously improve its product line, provide customers with value, and position the company for growth at a time when many equipment makers were making cuts.

“Suppliers in the Prime Advantage network are generally more willing to work with Cres Cor to find cost savings in all areas,” said Rio DeGennaro, vice president at Cres Cor. “And when combined with the discounts and rebates we earn, this sourcing network is a tremendously valuable asset. Our ability to work so closely with our suppliers and continually improve our products has led to us winning important new customers.”

Prime Advantage has also been named a Finalist in the Expo EXCITE Awards, in the category of Best Buyer-Seller Event. The 2013 E.X.C.I.T.E. Awards, presented by Expo magazine, recognize the year’s top performers and celebrate excellence and innovation across 25 categories of tradeshows, exhibitions and conferences. Prime Advantage holds two semi-annual conferences each year, bringing its members and endorsed suppliers together for one-on-one meetings, sharing of best practices, and educational sessions.

By combining the purchasing power of more than 750 industrial manufacturers, Prime Advantage is able to negotiate volume rebates and discounts with an exclusive group of world-class global suppliers.

Prime Advantage leverages the volume of the entire membership to provide savings on direct and indirect goods and services, as well as access to best-in-class suppliers that provide additional value added services customized to the specific needs of Prime Advantage Members.

In the past ten years, Prime Advantage has paid more than $138 million in rebates and discounts to its manufacturing industry members.
