Barbed Arrow Inc. to release Grand Arena of Serndall with accommodations for red/green colorblind players

Joining a growing number of game developers, Barbed Arrow, Inc. commits to US EPA Section 508 accessibility related to red/green colorblindness.
PRLog - Mar. 28, 2014 - KITCHENER/WATERLOO, Canada -- Barbed Arrow, Inc. announced today that the upcoming game, Grand Arena of Serndall, will incorporate factors to make the game accessible, and playable, by individuals who are red/green colorblind.

Dave Baker, Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Barbed Arrow, Inc., said, "Designing accessible features for colorblind players is something we had on our short list from the beginning."

"With the small interface available for mobile gaming, the design team was aware of the importance of using color to identify interface elements. It also required careful planning to accommodate Section 508 standards for colorblind players,” Baker continued.

Shawn Smith, a member of the Barbed Arrow team, is among the 8% of North American men who are red/green colorblind.

Smith said, "Barbed Arrow's commitment to making the Grand Arena of Serndall accessible to colorblind players is something I personally appreciate. Few developers do more than a token attempt to make their games accessible. I can't remember how many games I've stopped playing because they didn't give enough thought to accessibility for colorblind players. When the colors are all the same to me, I stop playing. I'm more likely to support the developers that design to ensure I can play their games."

Barbed Arrow joins a small but growing number of game developers who are making efforts to accommodate colorblind players.

Barbed Arrow, Inc. is the developer and publisher of Grand Arena of Serndall, scheduled for release in mid-2014.  More information about Grand Arena of Serndall is available at
