Canada’s Premier Wellness Coach Training Certification Program, Helping Canadians to Live and Work Well

By: PRLog
PRLog - Jul. 14, 2014 - WINNIPEG, Canada -- Interpersonal Wellness Services Inc. paved the way for future students of wellness coaching to access world coach class training within Canada, with the countries’ first internationally approved wellness coach training program established in 2008. To date the wellness coach training program has trained more than 300 coaches and is the premier wellness coach training program in Canada, empowering people live well.

In 2012, Interpersonal Wellness Services Inc. “wellness coach training program” received the status of “Approved Coach Specific Training Hours (ACSTH)” by the International Coach Federation (ICF), giving 90 ACSTH to graduates. ICF is the largest governing body for coaches around the world. The program presents a universal Wellness Improvement System (WIS) model that equip coaches to hold wellness conversations with clients, while partnering with them to assess, benchmark, and attain their life wellness goals.

With one in five Canadians set to be affected by a mental health disease, and the increase in stress leave, burnout, compassion fatigue and stress related diseases, the WIS wellness coaching program is preparing coaches across Canada to partner with their clients using an integrated holistic wellness model with a focus to improve wellness in 9 life dimensions. ‘Our graduates are prepared to assess and facilitate wellness conversations, create wellness plans and coach clients to reach their wellness goals”, says Shana Robinson, coach training coordinator and student.

The International Coach Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential”.

“We aim to train coaches in the theory and practice of wellness coaching, says Joyce Odidison, owner of the company and training director at the coach training institute division. Odidison is a: conflict analyst, speaker, coach and author of four books, who has been teaching, coaching and consulting with organizations for more than 17 years.

The need for credibility and a solid business model is essential for the new coach to succeed. “Coaches who coach under an established brand and have a product and proven model in their new business do far better” says Odidison, Director of the Interpersonal Wellness Services Inc Coaching Institute, WIS Coach Training program.

The WIS Coach Training Program offers its students business building training and support. The company offers its WIS Wellness Coach Licensed program to new and existing coaches who want access to support to run their business successfully. The coaches run their own independent business with the backend support of an established company, giving them access to business coaching, administrative support, marketing, billing and sales support, leaving time and flexibility to focus on promoting and growing their own business and meeting their needs of their clients.

Wellness coaches work in social services, youth care, human resources or own their own practice with a niche in leadership, workplace wellness or life coaching.
