This festive event seeks to raise awareness about breast cancer and support those who have been diagnosed with it.
PRLog - Nov. 4, 2014 - WINNIPEG, Canada -- On November 8, 2014, Winnipeg will host its first-ever Boobyball, an event designed to raise awareness of breast cancer and support those who have the disease. The event will take place at The Metropolitan Entertainment Centre, which is located at 281 Donald St., right across from the MTS Centre. The VIP reception will be from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the Boobyball will begin at 9 p.m. and run until 1:30 a.m. Knight Auto Haus Volkswagen has purchased a VIP Suite in support of the Boobyball, and would like to encourage residents of Winnipeg and the surrounding communities to show their support by attending.
The Boobyball is an event unlike any other. Drawing inspiration from the circus, the emphasis is on over-the-top fun that will amaze and delight all in attendance. There will be strong man competitions, contortionists, fortune tellers, tiger tamers, and plenty of surprises for those who attend Winnipeg’s first-ever Boobyball. On top of that, ticket holders will enjoy cocktails and festival foods that fit with the spectacular nature of the event.
MJ Decoteau, executive director of Rethink Breast Cancer, spoke to the success of Boobyball, saying, “Over the past 13 years, Boobyball has become a ‘must attend’ fundraising event for young professionals in Toronto, which has now also expanded into Calgary and Winnipeg,” adding, “A lot of credit for Boobyball’s success can be given to the fun and creative themes that we come up with every year, which compel and inspire attendees to support the important work we do with young women with breast cancer.”
Rethink Breast Cancer was launched in 2001, and it’s the first-ever Canadian breast cancer charity with the specific purpose of raising awareness for those in their forties and younger who have been afflicted with the disease. Rethink Breast Cancer also provides support for those affected, and, according to their website, intends to “infuse sass and style into the cause.”
Those interested in attending may purchase tickets online. While the VIP tickets are sold out, regular tickets are available for $100 each. Ticket purchasers may also opt to purchase a lucky draw ticket for $10, which will enter them to win a $500 AirBnB gift card.
