Business and Community Leader Dionne McCullar Honored With A U.S. Congressional Record Women of the Year Award

By: PRLog
This award is given to women who have done outstanding work in their community.
FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Sept. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- Dionne McCullar, business owner, community leader and board member of the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce was honored Tuesday with a U.S. Congressional Record Women of the Year Award from Congressman John Garamendi (D-Fairfield). The presentation was made at Garamendi’s annual Women’s Initiative Network event, held at Woodland Community College.

“I’m still trying to get used to the idea that my name will forever be a part of the Congressional Record for the 114th Congress of the United States of America,” McCullar says. “I am honored to be on the same platform as the other amazing recipients.” Congressman Garamendi presented awards to 35 women from the area that he represents, California’s District 3.

McCullar is president of Front2Back Designs, a promotional and marketing products business that she has owned and operated for the past 15 years with her husband Charles McCullar. She is an avid volunteer, intent upon giving back to the community that has supported her and her business. In addition to serving on the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber’s Board of Directors, she currently sits on the board of the Kiwanis Club of Fairfield where she is the immediate past president, former treasure and current chair of the organization’s Breakfast with Santa annual event; its Community Yard Sale; Crab Feed fundraiser; and Turkey Drive.

She is also on the advisory board for the Salvation Army Kroc Center and is volunteer chair of the organization’s holiday Red Kettle fundraising program. She has served, too, as ambassador for the Vacaville Chamber, the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber and the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She has been chosen several times as Ambassador and Volunteer of the Year for her work with the chambers. She has also been recognized as Kiwanian of the Year and received the Kiwanis Award of Excellence twice.

“I am happy to be honored just for doing the right thing,” McCullar says. “I don’t do it to get kudos.”

Front2Back Designs also has a philanthropic Charitable Giving Program where McCullar oversees a quarterly donation of $250 in services and/or promotional goods to nonprofit organizations. Recipients of the donations have included North Bay Healthcare’s Ride to Defeat Diabetes; the Children’s Nurturing Project; the Matt Garcia Foundation; Mission Solano homeless services center; and The Continentals of Omega Boys and Girls Club, among numerous others.

McCullar is the mother of three grown children and has three grandchildren. She is also a former San Francisco police officer where she served for 14 years. She and her husband live in Fairfield, California. To find out more about McCullar and her company, please visit www.front2backdesigns.com. You can also visit her blog and find her on LinkedIn.
