In celebration of the 13th annual National Food Safety Education Month®, Ecolab Inc. is providing its customers with information and educational materials from its Clean Hands™ Program. The program was designed to raise awareness about the importance of hand washing to reduce the spread of infection and to encourage workers in foodservice, hospitality and healthcare industries to make hand washing a natural part of their daily routine. It’s also a great way to highlight this year’s NFSEM theme, “Viruses: They’re in Your Hands.”
NFSEM was first created by the National Food Safety Program to reinforce food safety education and training among restaurant and foodservice workers and to educate the public about safe food handling and preparation at home. Restaurants and foodservice operations, hospitality associations, colleges and universities, federal, state, and local government agencies, and consumer organizations across the country now participate in NFSEM each year to raise awareness about food safety issues.

Clean Hands™ educational and motivational materials include a manager training guide, posters for sinks and employee areas, and a hand washing timer that rings an alarm after 15 seconds, as a friendly reminder to employees to wash for the proper duration.
