LONDON - March 24, 2016 - PRLog -- SOMNIUM are pleased to announce version 3.1 of their DRT embedded software development tools.
SOMNIUM® DRT Cortex M-IDE combines support for STM32 and Kinetis MCUs in a single product. Further updates will add support for Atmel SMART and NXP LPC devices in early Q2 2016, with additional devices to follow.
DRT is unique - fully source compatible with industry standard GNU (including the latest C11 and C++14 dialects and C++ exception handling), whilst offering significantly better code generation and enhanced debug features. DRT's patented resequencing optimizations typically provide 20% smaller code, 15% higher performance and 30% energy savings compared to other tools. Developers using SOMNIUM's DRT products have a significant advantage over their competitors, reaching the market faster with a wider choice of MCU variants and potential reductions in Bill of Materials costs.
DRT's IDE is built on the latest version of the industry standard Eclipse IDE, extended with leading edge debug and productivity enhancing features and is available on multiple host environments (Microsoft Windows and Linux, with MAC OSX support launching in Q2 2016).
Live memory view : Extract and display memory and variables without needing to breakpoint. This feature is vital for debugging deeply embedded and hard real time systems
Trace : Automatic configuration and extraction of MTB trace (on supporting devices). Using a small amount of on-chip RAM allows program trace to be gathered and viewed in a fully featured debug environment to allow faster detection and correction of complex software bugs.
Enhanced project importer : for easy migration from entry level tools and semiconductor vendors' software enablement.
DRT customers also benefit from full product support, direct from SOMNIUM's customer engineering team.
