The performances will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Pearl Studios, located at 500 8th Ave, Studio 414 in New York City. Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase at nytheatrebarn.org.
The open lab will present works by Sarah Crane, Corey Wright, Stephanie Card and Christopher Noffke. Noffke was most recently honored by DCMetroTheatreArts in 2015 for Best Choreography for The Wedding Singer. Each choreographer will present a theatrically-driven original piece.
"Great choreographers need feedback. Our lab is that forum where the audience sees pieces inspired by themes or storylines that they find personally relevant, and then they get input from the audience to improve it on the spot. We are thrilled to provide the opportunity for these talented individuals to workshop pieces based on their own inspirations," said Avital Asuleen, curator of the Choreography Lab series.

Now in its third season, the Choreography Lab is a home for theatrical choreographers to explore work at all stages of development. The lab supports and offers emerging choreographers an arena to develop their storytelling abilities. The lab also aims to build collaborative relationships between choreographers and musical theater composers, librettists, directors, and producers in an effort to integrate choreography into early new work development. While many choreographers have their own developmental processes and resources, New York Theatre Barn is the only theatre company that supports a curated Choreography Lab where choreographers can develop musical staging for a new piece.
