Psychologist Dr. Amy Stark Pens New Book Whole Heart for Boys Helping Boys Deal with Bullies and Self-Esteem

By: PRLog
Physical bullying and name calling are contributing to self-esteem issues for boys today. In her new book Whole Heart for Boys, noted psychologist Dr. Amy Stark reveals the emotional holes that grow in the hearts of boys and recommends solutions.
SANTA ANA, Calif. - Aug. 6, 2018 - PRLog -- Clinical psychologist Amy Stark was a guest author at an elementary school discussing her self-esteem books for girls. A young boy asked her when she was going to write a book for boys. That time is now. Newly published Whole Heart for Boys is helping boys feel more confident and assures them they are not alone when they feel they don't measure up.

"Boys have to contend with physical bullying and being name-called," said Dr. Stark. "It impacts them negatively." She said much of the negativity they have to cope with is physical in nature.  "They often feel a lack of self-worth if they aren't a super athlete," she said.

Whole Heart for Boys helps boys deal with how they see themselves and the problems they may be experiencing at school. With relatable comics, the book points out solutions boys can adopt.

Dr. Stark said the book "is a way for parents and counselors to be able to broach the topic of self-esteem and the ability to believe in yourself."

This is the third in a series of Whole Heart books written by Dr. Stark. Whole Heart for Girls and Whole Heart for Young Women were published in 2015. Each paperback book in the series retails for $4.99 and can be found at amazon.com. The Kindle version is 99 cents.
