The Royal Dance Academy, located in Suwanee, Georgia, participated in the 2018 New York City Dance Alliance in Mobile, Alabama, from Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, 2018. Throughout the regional competition, many dancers from Royal Dance Academy earned high-level awards for their performances in various categories.

In the Mini category, Josalin Johnson of the Royal Dance Academy ranked among the top finalists in the competition.

Junior dancers Natalie Bumgarner and Oliver Keane both earned awards for their performances. Oliver Keane was ranked the Junior Outstanding Dancer and granted an invitation to the NYCDA Junior Winter Intensive. Natalie Bumgarner was the runner-up Outstanding Dancer, earning a ballet scholarship.

Among the Junior high score soloists, Oliver Keane ranked 4th place overall, and Natalie Bumgarner ranked 8th. Natalie and Oliver together also earned a second-place rank in the Junior High Score Duo/Trio competition for their “Come Fly With Me” performance.

Kalliyan Johnson won first place among Teen High Score Soloists with her “In This World, Almost Blue” performance. She was also recognized as the Teen Outstanding Dancer and won a scholarship to Steps on Broadway summer intensive. Jasmine Swaby, another Royal Dance Academy dancer, was recognized as the Teen Outstanding Dancer Runner-Up.

Dancer Ethan Fuller won the NYCDA Friday Night Sessions scholarship.
