New Cookie Dough and Milkshake Bar Brings Austin, Texas to 'The Yard'

They have had great success at their other locations and decided to bring it to Austin after vacationing in the city and noticing no specialty milkshake or cookie dough options available.

AUSTIN, Texas - June 20, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

The Yard Milkshake Bar is not the average ice cream shop. Not only do they have 32 flavors of hand-dipped premium ice cream, but they also serve up specialty milkshakes with crazy toppings like donuts, cotton candy, brownies and cupcakes. The best part of all is they have nine edible cookie dough flavors available too. And all of these can be combined to build a unique milkshake creation.

This is not the first ice cream shop for owners Chelsea and Logan Green. The couple have had six ice cream shops under their belt since 2011. One small ice cream shop on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama and five locations of The Yard Milkshake Bar. The Yard can now be found in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and Texas.

It is an original concept that the couple came up with one day and immediately knew it was special. Chelsea says, "I love combining the flavors and toppings to make new creations. I wanted our customers to be able to come up with their own milkshakes and sundaes easily. The way our menu is at The Yard, everyone will be able to build a new shake or sundae every time they come in." Everyone also gets a souvenir with every specialty milkshake or sundae, because the branded mason jars are for customers to take home.

The Yard menus are made up like a checklist, where customers can pick from 32 ice cream flavors, nine cookie doughs, and 60 toppings to create the perfect shake or sundae. They also have cones and bowls, starting at $4, for those who are looking to stay on the simple side.

Chelsea says, “The originality behind the concept, as well as the creativity behind the name,  are a perfect combination and really made the business a success from day one.” They have had great success at their other locations and decided to bring it to Austin after vacationing to the city and noticing no specialty milkshake or cookie dough options available.

The grand opening comes just in time for summer. It’s hot out here in Texas, so bring the kids out for some ice cream and milkshakes. The new shop is located inside the Domain at 3400 Esperanza Xing across from H&M and beside the splash pad (so bring the kids in swimsuits so they can cool off while they wait). They will be celebrating their opening this Saturday, June 22 all day from 12 p.m.-10 p.m.
