AEG’s LA Galaxy and East Side Riders Bike Club recently joined forces to feed more than 1,000 members of the Watts community at the Councilman Office - Watts District Office in Los Angeles on June 16.
In addition to LA Galaxy staff, club legend and former LA Galaxy goalkeeper Kevin Hartman, prepared and served tacos alongside East Side Riders Bike Club staff and distributed team apparel to community members.
The effort was coordinated in conjunction with the LA Galaxy’s TOGETHER AT HOME campaign, a club-wide initiative to support, engage and inform LA Galaxy fans and the Los Angeles Community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The East Side Riders Bike Club is a grassroots organization located in Watts, whose goal is to change the lives of young adults and the structure of the community by fostering a passion for bicycle riding. For the past 3 years, the LA Galaxy has partnered with East Side Riders Bike Club to bring youth from the Watts community to LA Galaxy games, through the club’s Rising Star Program.
