These were the top two teams in the tournament and they have earned their spot rigorously. The two teams had faced each other twice before locking horns in the finale of the tournament. Out of all the previous encounters in the season, the Northern Warriors managed to get the upper hand on the Bulls once and the Bulls have replied vigorously by defeating the Warriors in the next fixture between the two. The stage was set for the perfect finale and the audience was impatient to find out who would emerge victoriously.
Both teams had to leverage their strength of speed. Both the Warriors and the Bulls had talented and skilled fast-paced bowlers whose lethal speed was enough to cut the opposition in half. The likes of Ali Khan and Fidel Edwards in the Bulls while the Warriors boasted about Wahab Riaz and Junaid Siddique, both of whom have been performing exceptionally well and consistently throughout the tournament. The warriors also had to trick up their sleeves, the bowler Wayne Parnell, the only player in the tournament who successfully took a hat-trick for his team.
The two captains, Dwayne Bravo and Nicolas Pooran came forward for the toss. Pooran and the Warriors won the toss and they elected to bowl first. Junaid Siddique was sent out to bowl his first spell of the day in the first over, anticipating his delivery and picking it up he showed in the last day; a four-wicket haul. Siddique showed his brilliance and was able to send back the opener of the Bulls, Rahmanullah Gurbaz to the stands, the first to be dismissed that day. Later the crafty Maheesh Theekshana managed to get the wicket of Evin Lewis and the Warriors were looking quite comfortable on the pitch. The Bulls, however, could only manage to score 81 runs in the ten overs, which was not a steep target considering the tournament's standard. The spinner from Sri Lanka Maheesh Theekshana managed to pick up some of the most important wickets; those of Ravi Bopara and the captain, Dwayne Bravo.
The next innings saw the Bulls manage to dismiss Nicholas Pooran but were not able to dominate the match at all. In the midst of a low target set by the Bulls, they even dropped a catch of Waseem Muhammad which cost them quite a hefty chunk of runs. The Northern Warriors managed to emerge victorious by eight wickets, and with ten balls to spare. Morawakage Maheesh Theekshana was announced as the man of the match and the Warriors received great admiration and appreciation from the crowd for their outstanding performance as they lifted the trophy in front of thousands of cheering fans.
