The largest family-owned tire and automotive repair shop in Utah, Burt Brothers Tires & Service is a fixture in the community. However, their location on 123rd South in Draper has been closed for months now while the store underwent needed renovations. With COVID restrictions lifting and the remodel complete, Burt Brothers Tire & Service finally welcomed the public back to their Draper store with the help of rally car racer Ken Block.
Burt Brothers stores serve customers up and down the Wasatch Front from Farmington to Highland. From their humble beginnings as a single auto repair store in Bountiful, they grew to be a major retail chain of 12 stores. However, they still strive to eliminate the bureaucracy and maintain a close connection to the communities and people they serve. At Burt Brothers, they believe that customers should be treated like family.
“It was great to welcome the public through our front doors again and see their excitement. Of course, some of that may have been because Ken Block joined us with his Hoonicorn,” joked Jake Burt, owner of Burt Brothers Tires & Service, “but it was a great way to bring the community back together and celebrate.”
Professional rally car driver Ken Block began his racing career in 2005. His talent was immediately apparent, earning him the recognition of “Rookie of the Year” in his first season. He is also well-known for his Gymkhana stunts and YouTube videos watched by over 1.5 million subscribers to his channel. His latest car, known to fans as the Hoonicorn Mustang, boasts a Turbocharged 410 cubic-inch Ford V8 engine combined with all-wheel drive and less weight than most racing cars, allowing Ken Block to perform his signature drifts and burnouts.
The five Burt brothers who purchased the automotive repair shops in 2019 from their dad and uncle are no strangers to cars. “We grew up around cars and tires. Dad had us sweeping the floors, running the registers, changing flats, and rotating tires from a young age,” remarked Burt. “Helping people with their cars, whether it be changing the spark plugs or mounting their snow tires to get them up the Utah canyons, is part of who we are.”
One of the few AAA-certified repair companies in Utah, Burt Brothers employs ASE-certified technicians to meet each customer’s needs. To make an appointment for auto repair services at Burt Brothers or shop for tires online, visit www.BurtBrothers.com.
