Capay Valley Almond Festival Activities Set for Sunday, Feb 27, 2022

The 107th Capay Valley Almond Festival in February is always a fantastic time to view the incredible bloom of Capay Valley’s almond trees and celebrate the rich heritage of the valley.

The Esparto Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the activities for the 107th Annual Capay Valley Almond Festival on Sunday, February 27, 2020. February is always a fantastic time to view the incredible bloom of the Capay Valley’s almond trees and celebrate the rich heritage of the Capay Valley. This year’s Parade has been rescheduled for 2023.

There are many events and activities up and down the Capay Valley to enjoy, including something for every member of the family. Don’t forget, you can pick up your PASSPORT for Town Stamps at any of the 5 PASSPORT locations noted below. Get your Passport stamped at 4 of the 5 locations and submit your completed PASSPORT at any of the 5 locations to participate in the Town Stamp contest.

Here are the day’s activities, starting at the top of the valley, in RUMSEY and ending in ESPARTO. Note Saturday activities are noted.

RUMSEY ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT Location at the historic Rumsey Hall. Events include music by Fred McCarty and Company, Food & Drinks including the very popular wood fired pizza, pulled-pork sliders & slaw, home baked goods, and locally grown produce.

GUINDA ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT Location at the Corner Market. You can purchase Grammy Wyatt’s Famous Almond Rocha, Nona’s Walnut Rocha, and homemade Almond (chocolate, vanilla & almond rocha) ice cream at the Western Yolo Grange. Lunch & beverages will be available. The Vendor Fair is 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

The Rustic BBQ and Commons Farm Kitchen and The Corner Store will be open for business from 10 am – 6 pm. The Rustic BBQ and Commons will be featuring music from the Truckaderos and Papa Day Blues Band.

The Guinda Volunteer Fire Department will be selling their very popular BBQ Oysters, sausages & other special BBQ treats with various beverages

TABER RANCH will have the Bottom Dwellers 1 – 4 pm playing music in their tasting room and will have wood fired pizzas available for purchase all day.

BROOKS ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT location at the Seka Hills Olive Mill & Tasting Room, Hours are 10 am to 4 pm. Featuring live music by The Hey Nows (11 am – 2 pm). Almond Blossom Farm tours, Noon – 2pm. Buckhorn Grill Food Truck.

CAPAY ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT location at The Road Trip Café and The Honey Store across the street. The Road Trip Café will have live music provided by the by Crossman Connection on Saturday, 2/26 and the Fryed Brothers Band on 2/27. Noon – 4 pm.

ESPARTO ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT location at The Esparto Regional Chamber of Commerce tent. Stop by the Chamber’s tent to get information on the entire day’s activities.

ESPARTO HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA: The Future Farmers of America (FFA) Breakfast is 7:00 am to 11:00 am and open to people of ALL ages.

BOOKS IN BLOOM – Book Sale at the Esparto Regional Library next to the Park.

ESPARTO PARK: Activities including 50+ vendors, carnival rides, fun & games for kids, and The CAR SHOW sponsored by the Madison Fire Department. The Vendor time is 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Master Gardeners will be providing Bee Education on Pollination.

2022 ALMOND FESTIVAL QUEEN COURT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

— 9 – 9:30 am Attend EHS FFA Breakfast

— 9:30 – 10:15 am Visit around the Park and Esparto places

— 10:15 – 10:45 am Photo Op in the Park

— 11:15 – 11:30 am Visit Road Trip Bar & Grill

— Noon – 12:45 pm Visit Rumsey

— 1 pm – 1:30 pm Visit Guinda

— 2 pm – 3 pm Photo Op in the Park

MUSIC in ESPARTO on the PARK: The Band of Friends at 10 am – 1 pm. Grooveline at 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm Come on by and enjoy the music.

The VFW will have Rick Morgan and terry Sheets 12 – 4 pm

The Ravine at Sixteen will have the Niteliters hosting their music from Noon – 4 pm.

Hog Canyon will have Conjour Band: Noon – 4 pm on Saturday and Last Call Band Noon – 4 pm on Sunday.

The Esparto Volunteer Fire Department will have their amazing car show at it’s usual spot and offer Tri-Tip sandwiches & beverages for purchase.

5 Food Trucks will be open for business between the Esparto Park & El Toro Mercado.
