Until now. The real world is quite different and she struggles to come to grips with reality. The story takes place against a backdrop of Camelot, but this Camelot is in a parallel universe.
The Princess Moxie series consists of two books that describe a coming-of-age story of a teenage princess. In the beginning of Moxie’s Problem, Moxie is an obnoxious, whiny fifteen-year-old who has never been outside her father’s castle. Until her father betroths her to a count living some distance away. Her father, King Smedley, hires three Knights of the Round Table to escort her on the journey.
Moxie is stunned by the real world which is completely different from life inside the castle. That is the start of her journey to become an independent-minded, decisive woman. Moxie’s objective is to learn how to become a queen and to assume the throne after her father dies.
Moxie’s journey continues in Moxie’s Decision. Moxie leaves the castle to learn how to live and survive on her own. Along the way, she has a number of adventures and learns how to handle weapons. She also learns her uncle has betrayed her and has tried to have her killed a few times. The uncle also seizes the throne when Smedley dies. Moxie now has to decide whether to walk away from her dream of being a queen or to fight for the throne.
