Actress Gwendoline Christie, who portrayed the warrior Brienne of Tarth on massively popular HBO series "Game of Thrones," paid her own $225 entry fee for Emmy consideration. Actors Alfie Allen (who played Theon Greyjoy) and Carice van Houten (who played Melisandre) submitted themselves too. They all got Emmy nominations, proving it's good career advice to advocate for yourself.
