ATLANTA, GA, November 01, 2021 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Atlanta Community Food Bank is receiving a $250,000 donation from the AIG Foundation's $2 million total contribution to Feeding America to help communities that have been disproportionately impacted by food insecurity. This donation will support:
• Atlanta Community Food Bank's efforts to feed families facing hunger, including children, who are no longer able to obtain nutritious meals at school.
• Atlanta Community Food Bank's work to address increased needs of our communities due to COVID-19.
• Atlanta Community Food Bank's work to help seniors who are food insecure.

"The Atlanta Community Food Bank is grateful to the AIG Foundation for its commitment to helping communities with the greatest needs. The Food Bank saw a significant increase in the number of people seeking food assistance during the pandemic, which shined a light on the severe impact of these challenging times. With AIG's support, we will be able to provide more meals to our neighbors who struggle to put food on their tables," said Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Laura Gallagher, AIG's Global Head of Corporate Citizenship and President of the AIG Foundation commented: "It goes without saying that 2020 raised extraordinary difficulties for the communities where we live, work, and serve our customers. Our company is committed to helping individuals, businesses, and communities prepare for and respond to times of uncertainty. As we address the challenges presented by the pandemic going forward, as well as the traumatic events that exposed the depth of inequality that continues to affect our society, the AIG Foundation aims to make a meaningful impact by providing pandemic relief for basic needs."

The AIG Foundation's donation is part of the company's commitment to making a difference in the communities in which they operate through programs, partnerships and philanthropy that leverage the skills, experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm of AIG's employees.
