Collaboration Will Benefit Board Diversification Efforts of Both Organizations
The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the authority on boardroom practices representing more than 22,000 corporate board members, today announced that NACD Directorship Certified® and NACD Accelerate™ members will be highlighted in the Equilar BoardEdge database, a tech-enabled platform utilized by leading companies to source a new and diverse board-talent pool.
The partnership with Equilar, the leading provider of corporate leadership data solutions, will spotlight and recognize directors who have achieved NACD Directorship Certification® in the Equilar BoardEdge platform. Members of NACD Accelerate, a unique two-year program that creates a pathway for executives to prepare for board service, also will join the Equilar Diversity Network (EDN). EDN is a consortium of more than 50 leading diversity-focused organizations consolidating robust registries of board-ready executives into one searchable database. BoardEdge hosts more than 270,000 diverse candidate profiles, supplementing the one million profiles in the database.
Additionally, directors who have achieved NACD Directorship Certification, having demonstrated their boardroom competency and knowledge through rigorous exams developed by experienced directors, will have their designation recognized on the Equilar BoardEdge digital platform, which will facilitate searches for board directors. The NACD Directorship Certification will be the only director credential included by Equilar in the director demographics in Equilar BoardEdge.
“Our mission is to ensure our clients have access to the most highly qualified and diverse board talent pool through our BoardEdge platform,” said David Chun, founder and CEO of Equilar. “Partnering with NACD supports this mission by continuing to elevate the caliber of candidates within the database. NACD Certified Directors and those completing the Accelerate program are well prepared to serve in boardrooms across the globe.”
“Our partnership with Equilar highlights this important credential and the leadership of the director community in rising to meet the challenges they face in today’s business environment,” said Peter R. Gleason, CEO of NACD. “This recognition of this distinction is an important step in our continuing effort to encourage and support directorship as a profession.”
