Zebra Technologies Recognized in Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index

Zebra Technologies Corporation (NASDAQ: ZBRA), an innovator at the front line of business with solutions and partners that deliver a performance edge, today announced it has received a score of 95 out of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

“We are proud to be recognized for our continuous efforts to bring together diverse people and big ideas in a collaborative environment,” said Jeff Schmitz, Chief Human Resources and Marketing Officer, Zebra Technologies. “Being a part of Zebra means being seen, heard, valued and respected to build a fulfilling career, and our people are united by our commitment to extend what’s possible for our customers and our communities.”

The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring how U.S.-based companies promote LGBTQ+ workplace equality through corporate policies and practices. This year’s CEI reflects growth across every measurement category, from the adoption of inclusive non-discrimination policies to equitable healthcare benefits for transgender employees. Zebra is one of 1,271 major U.S. businesses ranked in 2022.

“When we launched Zebra’s LGBTQ+ Inclusion Network, ZEAL, our mission was to promote a safe, inclusive and supportive work environment for Zebra’s LGBTQ+ employees and allies so everyone may be authentic about themselves in the workplace and empowered to reach their full potential,” said Mike Stent, Vice President of Internal Audit and ZEAL Co-Lead, Zebra Technologies. “Our CEI score reflects our progress on this inclusion journey. While we celebrate this milestone, we also acknowledge that there is more work ahead and remain committed to these efforts.”

Zebra was rated on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars: non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility. The company has further demonstrated commitment to these pillars by forming relationships with diversity outreach partners and supporting the ZEAL Inclusion Network.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” said Jay Brown, Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training, Human Rights Campaign. “We are raising the bar yet again to create more equitable workplaces and a better tomorrow for LGBTQ+ workers everywhere.”
