Since joining Serent as Associates in 2013, John and Dexter have been instrumental to Serent's success. Through their adept mentorship and deep investment expertise, they've played pivotal roles in shaping Serent's trajectory by contributing to over 30 investments within Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Franchise, and Automotive markets.
John has demonstrated leadership both in his investing activities and in his role in building the firm. On investing, John has led investments across a number of sectors, and has made his biggest mark in the Healthcare sector, where he has played an instrumental role in helping build Serent’s practice. He has also played critical roles in helping the firm grow and develop, at different points leading associate recruiting, debt capital markets, and the sourcing function. He is also widely seen as a mentor within the firm.
Dexter has similarly made his impact both on Serent’s investment track record and on the development of the firm. On investing, Dexter has helped build and co-lead several practices, including Education Technology, Automotive Technology, and Hospitality Technology. He has contributed significantly to the firm development with his leadership of the investing execution best practices and associate mentorship program. Through his efforts, he’s developed strong followership within the firm.
