Drider E-Scooters, a leading provider of electronic scooters, has carried out a survey of 200 of the top bus companies in the USA to inquire about their policies as to whether or not electronic scooters are allowed on their vehicles. They have published a new study, now available on their website, to help answer the question of “are electric scooters allowed in buses?”
With the increasing demand for and use of e-scooters in the US, the study takes a deeper look at whether or not bus service providers are catering to this growing demographic in their audiences. While e-scooters do help people get around, the study outlines that there are still many who use it in combination with other transportation methods to make their commutes and daily trips a lot easier.
According to the results of the study, the results on whether or not bus companies allow scooters remain mixed. Overall, 54.5% of the surveyed USA Bus companies allow onboarding for lightweight and foldable electric scooters, with the caveat that the scooters have to be able to fit easily into assigned areas after being folded. 10.5% of the survey companies have conditional protocols based on certain factors, like relaxing policies for ADA vehicles or service locations. Meanwhile, 35% of bus companies flatly refuse to onboard electric scooters, with safety concerns and limited space being among the most common reasons given.
The study goes deeper into the data, publishing the answers provided by each and every bus company that they got in touch with. They have published how they reached out to each company, whether or not they allow scooters, as well as additional notes on the answers they provided, such as caveats to their policies and times when the answer was inconclusive.
Those interested in finding out more can read the study based on the results of the survey published on the website. There, they can also learn more about Drider E-Scooters, the products they sell, and other research pieces on electronic scooters that they have published in the past.
