Utah Organizations Receive Intermountain Select Health Donations to Advancing Health and Well-Being

Ten Utah organizations are being awarded $5,000 each by Select Health for their exceptional contributions to enhancing health and well-being

(PRUnderground) September 24th, 2024

Select Health – a wholly owned subsidiary of Intermountain Health based in Utah – recently announced 10 recipients of the Select Health Awards. These ten remarkable Utah organizations whose impactful work uplifts underserved populations and provides essential services to individuals in need are being recognized for their extraordinary efforts to improve health and well-being across the state.

“We’re fortunate to have so many impactful initiatives in our communities that drive real change,” said Sean Dunroe, market president for Select Health in Utah and Idaho. “The Select Health Awards go beyond recognition—they are about giving these organizations the support they need to grow and continue their incredible work. It’s inspiring to see how their efforts strengthen our communities, and we’re honored to support their missions.”

The recipients address a wide range of critical causes, including support for survivors of domestic abuse, adult literacy, food security, youth development, and access to medical care. Select Health awarded each of the ten organizations $5,000 to support essential services such as growing food for underserved populations, providing consistent meals to students in need, improving access to medical care and supplies, and offering literacy programs.

“Honoring these outstanding organizations for their dedication to enhancing health and well-being is truly a privilege,” said Rob Hitchcock, president and CEO of Select Health. “Their tireless efforts to support those in need reflect the very spirit of our awards program. We are proud to stand behind them, celebrate their significant contributions, and acknowledge the profound impact they have on the communities they serve.”

Since its inception in 2008, the Select Health Awards have donated over $1 million to organizations across Utah, Idaho, and, for the first time this year, Nevada. The Select Health Awards were created to support proactive health and wellness initiatives and are part of Select Health’s commitment to improving community health.

As part of an integrated health system with Intermountain Health, both organizations focus on preventive strategies and wellness initiatives that address community health needs before they become critical. By supporting innovative programs and local organizations, the awards help improve access to essential services, promote healthier lifestyles, and enhance overall well-being. This initiative aligns with Select Health and Intermountain Health’s shared mission to build stronger, healthier communities and ensure that individuals and families have the resources they need to live the healthiest lives possible.
