Zebrafish Disease Models: Accelerating Human Disease Studies and Biomedical Research

By: Get News
Creative Biogene announced the release of its comprehensive zebrafish disease models which can be applied to support human disease studies and biomedical research.

New York, USA – September 6, 2022 – Zebrafish platform, the mature division of Creative Biogene, is dedicated to developing powerful alternative models to accelerate disease research. With quality tailor-made zebrafish solutions, Creative Biogene is capable to support early drug discovery and development. Recently, Creative Biogene announced the release of its comprehensive zebrafish disease models which can be applied to support human disease studies and biomedical research.

As a zebrafish research company with experienced scientists and advanced technologies, Creative Biogene has established a wide range of working zebrafish models to support multiple therapeutic/disease areas, including insights into human disease pathogenesis and related drug discovery and toxicology, and allow the evaluation of novel small molecule inhibitors. Creative Biogene has used various methods to model human genetic diseases in zebrafish.

Creative Biogene generates stable human disease models using methods such as engineered nucleases, including ZFN, TALEN, and CRISPR-Cas9 systems, enabling the creation of targeted mutations in specific zebrafish orthologs of interest. Among them, the CRISPR/Cas9 system is Creative Biogene’s tool of choice for generating stable models of human genetic diseases in zebrafish.

Creative Biogene generates transient zebrafish disease models through morpholino-mediated knockdown of zebrafish orthologs of interest and uses CRISPRi to reversibly silence target gene expression at the transcriptional level.

Creative Biogene can systematically evaluate a panel of drug combination therapies using the zebrafish DMD model, and can also test mRNA biomarkers associated with disease progression and drug-induced disease improvement in DMD zebrafish by qRT-PCR and RNA-seq. In addition, Creative Biogene is equipped with tools specifically designed to measure muscle abnormalities in zebrafish DMD models and allow for high-throughput screening of DMD therapies individually or in combination.

Creative Biogene provides consulting and preclinical zebrafish models of cardiovascular disease, including hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, and atherosclerosis, and offers a broad portfolio of cardiovascular services through the zebrafish platform, ranging from criteria for safety assessment cardiovascular telemetry studies into pathophysiological models of specific therapeutic areas.

“The available zebrafish disease models also include zebrafish IBD models, zebrafish kidney disease models and zebrafish tumor models, etc.,” said Marica Brady, the marketing director of Creative Biogene, she also added, “Our services can help you predict the safety of new compounds during the drug development process, and the results inform internal decision-making.”
